ABOUT LHO

The Loveladies Harbor Organization (LHO)

Nearly 300 members strong, provides each household with a way to support and ensure the maintenance of our privately owned amenities. It also plans social activities and this year is expanding the opportunities to meet more of your neighbors through fun social events and to create new summer memories.

All 400 residences own a share of each LHO property. In fairness, it is the owners responsibility to also share in the costs ( taxes, maintenance etc.) The only people carrying these costs are the members.

LHO is managed by a volunteer board that works to ensure we have a voice in local happenings and oversees the 3 properties we own and manage.  We welcome new members to work on events, committees and consider joining this board.

REAL ESTATE TAXES/STAFFING/MAINTENANCE/INSURANCE EXPENSES

LHO pays all the costs involved in maintaining the three properties owned by the members; Mathews Point picnic/playground, and the North and South Parking Lots.

  • Taxes

  • Auditors fees

  • Landscaping and general maintenance

  • Needed improvements due to erosion, weathering etc.

  • Insurance expenses in case someone gets injured at one of the properties

  • Staff salaries at the parking lots

Keeping these waters pristine is directly tied to what we all love most.

LAGOONS/BOATING SAFETY

Our dedication to maintaining the pristine condition of Loveladies' waters reflects our deep appreciation for both our individual properties and the broader community. This commitment enhances the beauty and value of our surroundings today and secures a vibrant, thriving environment for future generations. Throughout the year, our organization monitors the harbor, offering assistance for any harbor-related questions or concerns.

We are committed to educating all our friends and neighbors about our collective responsibility to keep the waters pristine by adhering to applicable ordinances, such as prohibiting the dumping of harmful materials into the lagoons. Through community monitoring, we ensure that contractors, landscapers, and others do not illegally dispose of harmful materials in our waters. Our Harbor Master volunteer addresses complaints, providing guidance on reporting violations, further safeguarding our cherished lagoons.

BEACH PARKING

Access to two Exclusive Beachfront Parking Lots

You will always have a parking spot and easy clean entry to the beaches making it easy to pack up for the day or just for a sunset.  Whether you drive or walk to the beach these access points remain available to us because we own the property entrances.

Even if you don’t use the beaches, being a part of LHO helps to ensure the access stays private with less crowded beaches.

RESERVE FUND and MATHEWS POINT FUND

The only way to get through the additional costs associated with damage from storms needed repairs and enhancements is by maintaining this reserve fund. Your generous contributions ensure our ability to restore and clean up after the storms.

We are all too familiar with the benefits and challenges of living at the shore.

FAQ

  • Loveladies Harbor consists of all the streets from South of Labia to North of Tidal Drive, it is about 400 homes.

  • LHO is a MEMBERSHIP organization that is 100% funded by membership dues and generous donations to the Harbor Reserve and Mathews Point Fund by our neighbors.

  • The LHO was created more than 50 years ago to allow us to function as a large group rather than individual homeowners, giving us the ability to use membership dollars to enrich our properties and provide beach, lagoon and recreational ownership. The reserves are what we have depended on to ensure post storm clean-ups & enhancements to the three properties we own.

  • The volunteer board of about 14 neighbors manages the committees and we are always looking for new people to help on the committees, any amount of time is appreciated!

  • How is Loveladies Harbor Organization different from Loveladies Property Organization? The LHO has limited membership. You have to own a property in the area bordered by the south side of Labia and the North side of Tidal to be a member. The LHO owns properties which require maintenance and insurance coverage as well as the requirement to pay taxes. The LPOA owns no property and is strictly an advocacy group for all homeowners in Loveladies, not just Loveladies Harbor.
